MagicJack
So we learned once we got here that our MagicJack isn't going to work. Bummer. It would have been such a nice, easy and cheap way to communicate with people from home. That's down the toilet. So we're back to good ol' Skype. But maybe we'll be able to see if Vonage will work. Our friends in Qatar use Vonage and I don't think they have any problems. I'll update you if we get that...but for now, ditch the phone number from MagicJack if you had it.

Hey Jessie! We use a SkypeIn US number and it works great for our US family and friends. It's relatively inexpensive and it's nice to be able to provide a US phone number for internet purchases, etc.

Another upside is you can also place and receive free Skype to Skype calls using your magicJack phone.

Bummer about MagicJack. Find out who your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is - get the name of the company. Then Google their name + Vonage and see if you get any hints as to wether Vonage may work for you.
