So we're still in the US. We leave one week from today.
We left Massachusetts on Monday then on Tuesday we took my grandfather to the hospital for emergency gallbladder surgery. He's 91 and I really hope I have inherited his hearty body! He did great and must have a very high pain tolerance. His gallbladder was black and really nasty.
We headed west on Thursday evening to Colorado to visit my brother. He lives in a suburb of Boulder called Longmont. Today we went to Ft. Collins and tomorrow we're off to Boulder and Estes National Park....maybe it's state park...but it's one of those.
We leave Monday, back to Philly, back to the hospital to see my Pop-Pop and hope to get in some last minute visits with family (probably at the hospital).
That's what's up with us. I should post some pictures of our time at home, but we didn't take very many. We'll see what I can come up with.

It's off.....
Last week Trey and I went through all of our earthly goods which we haven't seen for three years and decided what we wanted to bring with us to the UAE, what we wanted to throw and what we wanted to keep here. Then we had to go through and write down every single thing we were bringing. 8 dinner knives, 7 cereal bowls, 12 mugs....get the point....yeah, it got old! But we did it pretty painlessly and it took us about 4 hours.
Today the shipping company arrived to pick up all of our goods. It's so nice to have someone packing up our goods and lifting them into the truck. I think I could get used to this!
We'll see our things in about 8 weeks on the other side of life. It will be like Christmas and pretty nice to have our own stuff back. I'm thankful that CURE lets us ship our things.
We're enjoying our time at home and staying busy...having lots of fun and getting some shopping in there, too.

It's a New Day....
So I'm starting over fresh and new here. We'll be leaving for the UAE in February and we're really looking forward to the move, a change, new friends and learning about a different part of the Middle East.
I'll keep you updated as we go. For now we're at home, relaxing, trying to wind down from our time in the West Bank and take in some good "Americanisms" such as Barnes and Noble, Target and of course family and friends.

About Me
I am Jessica and everyone calls me Jessie. I am a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.
I am Pennsylvania Dutch but, I fell in love with New England in college and haven't been able to kick my addiction to all things "yankee" since then. When I married my husband 7 years ago I never imagined the adventure I was committing to. For the past 5 years we have lived and worked in the Middle East. Currently, I work on Special Projects for a hospital CEO in the United Arab Emirates.
I love to spend Saturday's at home in my pajamas baking,
I love to make guests feel special with a home cooked meal,
I love to keep family traditions,
I love to celebrate life by throwing a party,
I love when a house feels like a home,
I love church hymns sung by a choir,
I love to buy new things when I travel,
I love high heels and I love that God gave me a husband tall enough so that I can wear them.
I am bringing all things I love from the East Coast to the Desert Coast- I am a different kind of American Ambassador!
